The Oceansgate Development
Acting on behalf of Plymouth City Council, William Lean has been jointly appointed with international property consultants JLL to market a landmark regeneration project within the South Yard area of Devonport Dockyard, recently released by the Ministry of Defence.
Now officially named Oceansgate, the site spans a total of 35 hectares and has been designated as an Enterprise Zone, offering significant opportunities for marine-based businesses. The initial 7.5-hectare area, promoted by the Council, is divided into three distinct phases of development.
Oceansgate aims to become a world-class hub for marine industries, fostering collaboration between research, innovation, and production enterprises.
Phase 1:
This phase will deliver a three-storey office building and two industrial-style blocks, all available for letting. Construction is being carried out by Midas, with a detailed planning application submitted and work scheduled to begin in January. Completion is anticipated by late summer 2017.
Phase 2:
Following the completion of Phase 1, Phase 2 will offer similar high-quality accommodation and will also incorporate part of the Devonport Royal Navy Heritage Centre.
Phase 3:
To be marketed separately, Phase 3 includes three former dry docks, adjacent jetties, and a number of large listed buildings. This area will be offered either as a whole or in subdivided plots, subject to occupier interest.
